"Driving the Dream" is a bioplay about Bertha Benz, whose husband, with her help, produced the world's first internal combustion automobile. However, because of complaints, the police forbid them from driving their automobile. Bertha defied them and with her mechanical and marketing expertise changed the world of transportation from horse to horsepower in a 121 mile drive.
